Conditioning & Technique Workshops

Conditioning and technique workshops focus on making dancers stronger and more aware of their bodies. Dancers are led in a series of exercises and drills that are geared especially for their needs. Workshops also center around building strong technique through various combinations that include ballet and floor exercises. With your choice of either a jazz or contemporary technique workshop, your dancers will expose and improve weaknesses while learning new skills to further their training.

Warm-up

Let's Build Some Muscle

The first hour of the workshop is dedicated to warm-up, strength/conditioning, and drills that are designed to aid in the execution of dance steps. The dancers will engage in:


-Dynamic stretching to fully warm the body

-Strength exercises of the core, upper body, and lower body

-Ballet exercises to improve upon general technique

-Drills to make dancers stronger and more powerful

 

I believe in building strong dancers from head to toe and my workshop is designed to do just that!

Center

Across the Floor/Center Combos

The second hour of the workshop will consist of center and down the room combinations. We will focus on musicality, showmanship, and most importantly, proper execution and technique.

Choreography

Time to Dance it Out!

During the third and final hour of the workshop, your dancers will learn choreography that includes all of the skills touched upon during the workshop. This is the chance for everyone to shine!

Jazz Technique Workshop

Your Choice of Two or Three Hour Workshop

Choose from two or three hours and focus on what you would like the most for your dancers. For example, you can choose a two hour workshop with conditioning and choreography only. It's up to you!


This workshop is open to dancers of all levels.


Price: $10/dancer for two hours

$15/dancer for three hours

*Must have a minimum of 8 dancers 

Contemporary Technique Workshop

Two Hour Workshop

This two hour workshop is similar to the jazz technique workshop in structure, but slightly different in the focus of study. We will begin with a ballet based warm-up leading to conditioning that will focus on building strength and flexibility, as is needed for many contemporary floor moves. We will move into improv exercises that will help the dancers really connect, be comfortable and be in the moment. Finally ending with a combo for the dancers to experience that pushes their boundaries and opens them to feel more than just steps. This workshop is about experiencing and experimenting with movement.


 

This workshop is open intermediate and advanced dancers.


 

Price: $15/dancer


 

*Must have a minimum of 8 dancers

Through years of study and experience, I have put together a program that is specifically designed for dancers strength and conditioning. This program allows dancers to connect with their bodies on a higher level to help them become more aware of their muscles, focused on strength, and experience increased stamina. 

Strength & conditioning is just as important for dancers as any other athletic field. Building & maintenance is something that's ongoing not just something done at beginning of the season.
